I've been trying to flash a BIOS with the GPU max clock unlocked (it's set to max +135), but when I try to flash the bios, I get errors. ASUS' flash tool says the file is invalid, the same goes for the flash utility located in the BIOS itself.

Afudos

When I try to flash with AFUDOS in DOS, I get Error 3 - File size does match the current BIOS. When I try to use AFUDOS engineering edition to force the BIOS flash, the program simply refuses to do anything, doesn't even brick my laptop. I get the usual AFUDOS information window and then nothingness aside fror the all-powerful blinking underscore. Does anyone have any suggestions? The modded BIOS itself should be perfectly fine. All was done was extract the vbios part, edit the OC options, and put it back in. Aside from leaving it as it is:P.

How to use (http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/486047-g73jh-bios-update-step-step-newbie-tutorial.html#post6278559). You don't need a modded bios to push the GTX 660 past 1300 on the core.

However your laptop will not be able to cool it at that clock. Theres a ton of information on pushing it past the clock limit with no need to flash a modded bios. That being said unless you know for 100% that the bios was made for that card do not flash it.

I seen that Asus has used memory from 2 makers on the GTX 660m's that use two diff sets of timings and if the memory on the card cant do them you bricked your card and will now have to do a blind flash to restore it. I have said this before and i will say it again. Do not use bio's unless they are direct from Asus. Flashing modded bios can make more problems then you think. The only time you need to mod the bios is to do a vmod for the card and there is no way a G55 can cool a vmodded GTX 660m that is using a clock that requires a vmod.

Volt modded and at 1580 on the core my GTX 660m can hit 90c loads in a G75 and at stock volts 1350mhz it loads at 72c.

Tech Points: 3 From: USA Posted:4/11/2008 10:54:00 AM # 1 Hey guys, after weeks of researching on how to downgrade bios on my P5k-premium or any Asus mobo with AMI bios, I have finally found a way. This method requires the Engineering Edition of AFUDOS. You can google 'Afudos Engineering' to find some links to download. Here is a link I've uploaded. I use the Boot USB method since its faster and more reliable.
