Read these instructions. You will need to buy a usb printer cable and follow these directions below. We at our laboratory have about 35 Intermec printers and after much trial and error they work well for us. They practically never break.

Answer Tools Required: 1. EasyCoder PC4 (PC4B or PC4C) printer. Microsoft Windows compatible PC. (XP/2000 recommended, Vista NOT supported ( Note from Dole: it works with Windows 7 and probably Vista and Windows 8) 3. Available USB port on your PC. Latest version of the USB drivers (2.0 or better) which can be downloaded from Note: There are two parts to installing the USB driver. You will go through the Found New Hardware wizard two times.

The first part is installing USB port and the second part is installing the USB to Serial port. Download and unzip the USB drivers to a location on your PC. With the printer turned off plug in one end of the USB cable to USB port on the printer and the other end in to an available USB port on your PC. Turn the printer On. Now you will get prompted with the 'Found New Hardware' dialog box. Select 'Install from list or specific location' and click Next.

Click Browse and select the location where you unzipped the files in step 1 and click OK. The USB driver will now install. Now you will get another 'Found New Hardware' dialog box for the USB Serial port. Select 'Install from list or specific location' and click Next. Click Browse and select the location where you unzipped the files in step #1 and click OK. The USB Serial driver will now install. Now reboot your PC.

Intermec Easycoder Pd42 Driver

The newly installed port may not show available until you reboot your PC one time. The USB port is now successfully installed. In Windows the USB port will be assigned to a Com port. To find out what Com port number is assigned to it go to Device Manager and then Select Ports. You will see USB Serial Port (COMx).
